We consider four factors: Speed, Anticipate Traffic, Follow the Landscape and Where and When.
Speed: Speed is one of the biggest factors in fatal road crashes. The faster someone is driving, the less time they have to stop if something unexpected happens**. Speed limits are there for a reason and we monitor the speed of your car against the road speed limit. The more frequently the vehicle is driven within the speed limit the more likely you are to be awarded "Reward Kilometres" and get a lower renewal premium.

Anticipate Traffic: Anticipate Traffic is about the driver’s ability to see what is up ahead and react with controlled and smooth braking. In normal circumstances the safest way to brake is to do so early and lightly, braking more firmly as you begin to stop**. The smoother the vehicle is driven over a period of time the lower the score will be. Hard braking events will increase your score and reduce your ability to earn "Reward Kilometres".

Follow the Landscape: Follow the Landscape is about the driver’s ability to anticipate the road ahead and drive at a speed suitable for the characteristics of the road (corners/bends). Driving too fast will cause the vehicle to tilt and we monitor this. The more frequently the vehicle is driven at appropriate speeds around corners over a period of time the lower the score will be.
Where and When: Where and When considers the times the vehicle is being driven on specific roads (by speed limit). Driving in the dark is one of the most dangerous times of driving. Visibility is lower than in daylight hours and a driver’s depth perception is reduced which can cause impaired judgement and delayed reflex actions. Driving between the hours of 11pm and 5am will lower your score.
