BoxyMo are the latest #GiroHero
BoxyMo.ie have teamed up with Jigsaw, Ireland’s National Centre for Youth Mental Health, to be the title sponsor of their upcoming flagship fundraising event, the BoxyMo Giro D’Jigsaw charity cycle tour.
Ireland’s first telematics dedicated insurer BoxyMo.ie, aims to bring cheaper insurance to Ireland’s younger drivers by rewarding those that drive safely.
The recent announcement follows previous reports that Irish young people have higher rates of mental health difficulties than their peers in Europe and the USA, with more than half suffering a significant problem by the age of 24.
Jigsaw work to change how Ireland thinks about, respond to and supports young people’s mental health. The Jigsaw Services give young people a safe and welcoming place they can visit for free and confidential support from trained mental health professionals.
The BoxyMo Giro D’Jigsaw is a three day, eight stage, 470km charity cycle tour of Ireland and is taking place from Friday 29th September to Sunday 1st October to raise vital funds to support young people with their mental health.
Mike Mansfield, Head of Communications and Fundraising, Jigsaw, says: “From our first meeting with the team at BoxyMo it was clear they shared our excitement about the potential our Giro D’Jigsaw cycle has to raise funds so that Jigsaw can continue to support young people’s mental health. This partnership makes sense: Jigsaw is the national centre for youth mental health in Ireland and BoxyMo is primarily concerned with providing a service specifically for young people.”
Entry to the BoxyMo Giro D’Jigsaw is limited to 60 cyclists and each cyclist will experience life like a cycle pro, starting their journey from the rugged coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way in Galway to the gorgeous coast of the Irish Sea along Ireland’s Ancient East and back again. The challenge aims to raise over €60,000 to support Jigsaw’s work improving the lives of young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
Speaking at the launch of this partnership, Managing Director of BoxyMo.ie Gary McClarty said, “This is such a fantastic partnership for BoxyMo. We absolutely love the work that Jigsaw does to support young people’s mental health across Ireland and we are so impressed by the Giro D’Jigsaw cycle. It’s going to have such a positive impact by raising funds and awareness of Jigsaw’s work. We are delighted to be playing our part in that impact.”
