No, once you take out a BoxyMo policy and the box has been installed, it stays in the car for the duration of the policy. If you cancel your policy we will leave the box in the car but deactivate it remotely. If you want the box to be removed we will make a charge for the cost of deinstallation.

If the data helps to indicate that you were not at fault for an accident, we will try to use it to defend you.

No, we will remotely deactivate BoxyMo if you sell your car or cancel your insurance policy. You must make sure that you tell anyone who buys your car that the box is installed even though it will not be collecting data.

No, we own BoxyMo.

We only share the data with those companies required to provide the services under the policy, such as the box provider. Other than where we may be required to disclose any information we hold by a relevant law enforcement or regulatory authority, we will not disclose any specific information we hold about you unless you have expressly authorised us to do so.

Yes, as with any GPS device such as a mobile phone, the box does send location data, but this is not fed through in real-time.

We do not use this data unless your car is stolen and the theft tracking feature is activated.

Our installation team will contact you by phone and text to arrange a time and date for the installation. An engineer will then come to install BoxyMo at a time and place that is convenient for you. Installation takes around 40 minutes.

The excess is the amount of the claim that you will be responsible for. For example, if your policy has a €400 excess and you claimed for €1000 of damage, your insurers contribution would be €600.

Excesses will apply to accidental, fire, theft and malicious damage claims and also to windscreen claims.

You also have 2 types of excess on the policy, firstly a compulsory excess and secondly a voluntary excess. With a voluntary excess you can decide to pay more towards your own claim and as a result you will get a premium discount.

The excesses that apply to your policy are shown on your Schedule of Insurance.

When you purchase the policy we will want to get "BoxyMo" fitted as soon as possible.

We'll contact you a few days after you take out your policy to arrange a convenient appointment for “BoxyMo” to be fitted to your car. Usually this will take place at either your home or place of work, Monday to Friday.

“BoxyMo” is about the size of a smartphone and is fitted out of sight. The fitting is carried out by one of our experienced installers and takes around an hour. It is safe and does not interfere with the workings of your car.

BoxyMo is an insurance policy which rewards good driving behaviour. To assess your driving, we need to install a box to collect various information from the vehicle such as location, when and how it's driven, and where it is kept overnight. It also enables us to retrieve the vehicle if it's stolen.

It is a condition of BoxyMo insurance that a box is installed on your vehicle within 14 days of purchase. This is so we can start as quickly as possible to accurately measure how the vehicle is being driven.

No, BoxyMo is professionally installed and doesn't affect the vehicle's warranty.

If you are under 25 years of age your BoxyMo Private Car Policy does not cover you to drive other cars, other than a courtesy vehicle provided to you under the BoxyMo approved repairer scheme if your vehicle is damaged following an insured loss. If you are over 25 years of age you are covered to drive other cars if your Schedule of Insurance says so.

If you have been involved in accident, BoxyMo should inform us immediately and we contact you to make sure everything is fine and arrange for the emergency services etc if this is required. If we have not been able to reach you, please contact us as soon as possible after the incident on 1890 812 763 and we will guide you through the process.

Telematics technology can track the location of your car to help us find your car if it is stolen. If you believe your car has been stolen, please inform the local Gardai and obtain a crime reference number. You should then contact the Stolen Vehicle Theft Tracking Number on +44(0)333 2020002. They will confirm your details, record the crime reference number and begin to monitor the location of your car, liaising with the Gardai as appropriate. You must also contact our claims department on 1890 812 763. Hopefully, your car will be located and recovered undamaged. If your car is recovered but damaged, or not recovered at all, we will help you with your claim.

MyBoxyMo is your personal portal that gives you total control on administering your insurance policy at a time that suits you.

Insurance telematics is the process by which data is collected and analysed to enable driver behaviour to be assessed, and the level of risk presented by each individual to be calculated. This allows an insurance company to assess individual risk much more accurately and therefore provide a much fairer price to you, the customer.

The information is collected from a clever little box we fit out of sight in your car. We call this "BoxyMo", and the information we receive is used to help you drive safer and reduce the costs of your insurance. We will receive information on every journey and this is compared to other drivers to provide an individual insurance risk profile. We will allocate you a driving score based on various factors and the higher your score the more "Reward" Kilometres you earn and the lower your renewal premium will be.

BoxyMo comes with a standard €150 Compulsory excess for accidental damage, fire, theft and malicious damage claims.
